Regional Anti-Piracy Manager-Japan+APAC - Adobe - Hong Kong


Job Description

Position Summary
     
The Regional Anti-Piracy Manager for Japan + APAC (J/APAC) will be based in Hong Kong, China, and will be a key member of the Worldwide Anti-Piracy (WWAP) team, reporting to the Director, WWAP, and responsible as the Anti-Piracy leader and liaison for the markets of Japan and the broader region of APAC. This role is responsible for guiding development of regional and market-specific strategies in coordination with a global approach, as well as being responsible for accomplishing the implementation of those strategies, actions, and net-results within Japan and the APAC markets through close partnership with a wide range of Adobe and external entities.
 
Responsibilities
 
Represent the Worldwide Anti-Piracy organization in Japan and the APAC region/markets, including being the local focal point for the Adobe Japan and APAC Executive Teams and the other entities of Adobe, the channel partners, BSA and other industry organizations, regional and local law enforcement, and other external entities for all Anti-Piracy matters.
Work with field anti-piracy and license-compliance teams to develop tailored comprehensive strategies and approaches for Japan and APAC markets that yield direct-revenue, indirect-revenue, and/or establish a much-improved environment for Adobe to reduce piracy and increase sales in the market and region.
Represent Adobe on the respective BSA APAC Regional Committee, ensuring Adobe's investments are effectively monetized through various marketing & enforcement initiatives in the region and that the strategies and priorities established globally for BSA are effectively applied to the APAC region and it's markets.
Partner with and support governmental agencies, law enforcement, and other investigative resources in actions critical to disrupting illegal, pirated, or other activities that infringe Adobe's intellectual property.
Identify proven effective and ineffective strategic and tactical approaches for anti-piracy, and feed those insights into global strategies as well as regional and local actions and implementations.

Desired Skills & Experience

Requirements
Must be passionate about the business, and of the opportunity to  address core aspects piracy in order to yield considerable growth of the  business.
Overall 10+ years experience with required 3-5 years of software industry or related experience in a business, marketing, anti-piracy, or similar strategic executive-liaison role.
Require extensive experience working directly with key stakeholders (sales, marketing, channel partners, legal, finance) in the development and execution of localized strategies and actions that yield clear near-term and longer-term net benefits, ideally in a regional role.
Experience in dealing with industry groups, trade associations and working collaboratively with legal, sales and marketing groups in the development and execution of joint company/industry actions in the markets highly desired.
Must have tangible understanding and experience with media and/or software piracy (methods of piracy, underlying motivational factors, various forms of distribution, technological enablers/disablers, consumer motivations and triggers, etc.)
Excellent English oral / written skills and public speaking skills required. Further language skills of the region preferred.
Experience with investigations and cases involving intellectual property, licensing issues highly desirable.
Must be willing to travel extensively within the region, occasionally to other regions.
The ideal candidate should be able to establish credibility with peers as an expert in anti-piracy and intellectual property issues, especially with law enforcement, industry organization and other partners, and regional entities critical to the success of the role and mission.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment, and work toward strategic objectives while consistently delivering tactical results.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
