Director - Digital APAC - Turner Broadcasting System - Hong Kong


Job description

Duties:
Reporting to SVP, Business Development, APAC, the Director, Digital, APAC, is responsible for leading and managing digital business development for Turner in the Asia Pacific region. Setting strategy, leading and managing our digital product portfolio with a goal to exponentially scale our impact, digital architecture, and partnerships. Define the short and long term strategy and growth opportunities for Turner s services and content across digital platforms.
Develop, prioritize, implement and drive the strategic initiatives to generate new audiences & revenue streams, and to enhance the core television business and our Company s brands/properties. Aligning interactive/digital to core business priorities and strategy of our Kids and Entertainment networks, pro-actively collaborating with key stakeholders in all departments. Management of Company s digital ventures. Rationalize the long-term expenses related to maintaining the products and related applications, and ensure the products operate in the most efficient manner. Manage Turner s franchise development plans and brand assurance requirements on digital platforms. Establish and maintain an effective communication with international interactive divisions of associate companies within the Group in order to leverage off their experiences and employ best practices. Manage relationships with developers and other third party content/solutions developers or vendors with a goal to come up with products that suit local market tastes and enhance customer experience. Keeping abreast of digital media trends in the media and animation entertainment industries; assessing industry trends, monitoring competitor s activities so as to optimize go-to-market priorities Establishing and maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance in all dealings Working closely with legal team on rights issues and best practices in deal making and contract

Qualifications:
-10 years of solid business development experience Experience in leading digital business strategies High degree of quantitative and analytical experience in media and/or technology Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive projects with competing demands for resources Strong ability to comprehend, structure and negotiate complex business agreements, strong business and financial acumen, and superior analytical and writing skills Strong and effective negotiating skills, including:
deep understanding of the traditional media business, internet, new media and interactive platforms and the associated business models Excellent strategic and creative thinking, with particular emphasis on evaluating new opportunities and changing marketplace and media consumption dynamics Proven track record in conceptualizing, establishing and building new businesses on digital/multi-media platforms Ability to provide guidance on strategy for developing, offering or acquiring digital media goods and services Superior communication skills with the ability to interact cross-functionally at all organizational levels and externally with business associates and clients, including exceptional organizational, prioritization and time management skills Business acumen and ability to read and synthesize various media consumption and marketplace reports; practical application of business and process-mapping techniques Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent, sound judgment Must excel in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment B.A. required; MBA a plus Strategic thinker, dependable and collaborative team player who can work with multiple functional stakeholders Project management experience Fluency in English is a must. Mandarin is preferred
