Director - Institutional Business, Liquidity - Global Asset Management - HSBC - Hong Kong


Job description
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Director, Institutional Business, Liquidity.

Principal responsibilities
Drive local and cross-border Asset Management Liquidity opportunities by aligning to HSBC clients regional decision makers based out of the Regional Treasury Centers (RTCs) of Hong Kong or Singapore or Shanghai.
This effort will be supported by the Institutional sales teams in China and India, and the existing Treasury Segment Sales Teams in the U.K., Europe and the U.S.
Pro-actively identify and solicit new business activity with the focus on maximizing revenue growth via increased Asset Under Management from target clients with primary focus on but not limited to Chief Financial Officers, Finance Directors and Regional Treasurers.
Design and implement a sales strategy for Liquidity in the Treasury Segment that leads to profitable Asset Under Management growth through selling HSBC Global Liquidity Funds, Asian currency liquidity funds and US Money Market Funds to institutional clients, including multinational corporations, non-bank financial institutions, pension funds, public bodies and intermediaries
Work closely with internal HSBC business partners in Global Banking, Global Markets, Commercial Banking, , Payments & Cash Management and Securities Services to promote HSBC Global Asset Management’s Liquidity offering and team up to pitch and maintain client relationships
Provide advisory service on investment policies and strategies to institutional clients or prospects in this segment
Promote other Asset Management capabilities where client need requires
Partner with product management to identify product gaps or enhancement ideas and contribute to development of long-term product strategy
Spearhead key account planning exercises including assisting with setting and implementing strategies for key clients with global team, and logging of call reports
In partnership with appropriate local head(s) of client service, develop and aid in the implementation of a client service strategy aimed at client retention and growth
Involvement and participation in industry events

Requirements
Degree and MBA or CFA qualifications
Extensive industry experience, either in Asset Management, Corporate Banking, Cash Management or Treasury Services from a sales management standpoint with a top track record
Deep understanding of treasury, cash, short-term investment management products
Good knowledge of the Multinational Company and Non-Bank Financial Institutions industries in Asia Pacific
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Ability to work at all levels of seniority, both within the HSBC organization and with the senior management of the client
Excellent sales skills and ability to proactively approach group banked clients
Willingness to travel and ability to work effectively across other groups, global regions and lines of business
Highly organized, achievement-oriented with a hands-on mentality and strong interpersonal skills
